Q: What is the difference between chalk-based paint and Fusion Mineral Paint?
A: Chalk-based paints are available in a multitude of different formulas from as many companies. Some of them are regular latex paints with additives to make them chalky, and some are all natural with no synthetic components in their formula. By and large, though, they are not as durable and generally require some sort of topcoat just to be usable. Fusion Mineral Paint has a built-in topcoat which allows it to cure to a very durable finish all by itself.
Q: What is wax and why should I use it to finish my piece?
A: Wax is relatively durable, easy to maintain, and can be tinted for aging or using other effects. It also gives a custom, hand rubbed look as it absorbs into the paint. If you are looking for a more durable finish, Fusion's Tough Coat can be used to protect pieces that will be under heavier day to day use, and also adds a slight sheen on top of Fusion's matte finish.
Q: What is Milk Paint and why should I use it??
A: Milk Paint is a powdered paint that can be mixed to different consistencies based on how you'd like to use it. It can be mixed thin to make a color wash or thick to make a textured paint. It reacts to finished surfaces differently than chalk-based paints and Fusion Mineral Paint, but can result in some truly unique finishes. It is also known for giving that authentic old chippy look that is difficult to achieve with other types of paint. Milk Paint is truly a finish that offers endless possibilities and opportunities for learning.
How to Order
Orders may be placed by utilizing our web site, emailing your order (we will invoice you through Paypal and you can pay using other methods), submitting it through our contact form, or by calling our office at 985-871-6100.
Currently, our shopping cart system works with PayPal (for PayPal accounts or credit card payments) and Square for credit card payments. PayPal can process the your card without a PayPal account, if you prefer not to use it. We are also able to accept credit cards by phone if you are comfortable with that option. Shipping and backorders
We will ship most orders within 24 hours after receiving payment. We make every attempt to ensure our stock levels are accurately reflected on our online store, but if an item is out of stock we will contact you for further instructions before shipping the rest of your order.
We use USPS Priority Mail, FedEx Ground or UPS to ship all paints, waxes, and finishes above one or two samples. Smaller orders will ship via USPS First-Class Mail. Waxes and oil-based stains and topcoats considered hazardous will be shipped by USPS Parcel Select Ground, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground for safety reasons and may increase shipping time by 3-4 days.

Louisiana residents will pay 4.25% state sales tax. If you would like to pick up your order at our Mandeville location, please use our contact form to let us know, so we will not ship it to you. All shipping charges will be refunded through Paypal or your credit card upon pickup.
Returns & Refunds
We cannot accept returns for paint or wax products, unless the product was shipped in error and we are notified within 7 days of receiving your shipment.
Paint colors cannot be exactly reproduced in digital pictures, so please be sure that the colors you choose will work for your project. If you are unsure please contact us and we will work with you to choose the best color, or point you to some online images of projects that used the color you are considering.
Dry items, such as paint brushes, buffing brushes or sanding pads may be returned unopened and unused. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Please email or call us first so we know to expect your product and how it is being shipped. We will issue an RMA number for you to include with your package.
Shipments that are refused or returned to sender will be automatically refunded minus any chipping charges. We are not able to refund shipping charges.
On the rare occasion that your package seems to be lost but your tracking number says it was delivered we encourage you to think like a postal worker. Was it hidden on your porch behind the potted plant? Did they leave it out of view on a side or back porch or anywhere else that it may be hidden from street view? Did they leave it with the neighbor? Does your building have a parcel locker? Did another member of the family collect the package and put it on your desk and you didn't see it (yes, it happened!)? These are all possibilities and there are many more. And, more often than not, they show up a day or two later after being marked as "delivered".
If your package shows as delivered and does not turn up within a week, let us know and we will send out a replacement product. If it is not marked as "delivered" then we will use all available tools from the shipping carrier to locate it within a reasonable time frame.
Leakers and Damaged items
Shipping liquids is a risky business, especially when you try to keep shipping costs as low as possible. Inevitably, damage is going to happen and paint jars may leak. We seal all jars in plastic bags for this exact reason. If one of your jars leaks in shipment don't worry, its probably not as bad as you think. Take a picture of the leaker and inspect it through the plastic. Usually leakers are caused from caps or foam seals shifting in transit and very little paint is actually lost. To put it in perspective, a tablespoon of paint can look like an entire jar leaked into the bag.
If it doesn't appear that the jar is actually damaged the take it out and clean it as best as you can and see how much paint is actually lost. Let us know and we will work out an appropriate credit for that item. Minor leaks DO NOT qualify for a full refund, and cannot be returned due to carrier regulations.
If a jar is actually damaged in shipment and a significant amount of paint is lost or the jar is not salvageable we will issue a full refund for the jar or replace it.
